Animal Management Attendant

Coffs Harbour, Australia

About the role

This role supports the daily operations of the City's Animal Management Centre, ensuring the care, welfare, and safe release of impounded animals in line with legislation and community expectations. Responsibilities include cleaning, feeding, exercising, and transporting animals, assisting with veterinary checks, microchipping, maintaining accurate records and providing high-quality customer service. It also supports the rehoming of unclaimed animals and assists in promoting responsible pet ownership education.

Successful candidates will need to be available and flexible to work across a seven-day roster (Monday - Sunday), to support the needs of the Centre and the animals in our care.

About you

To thrive in this role, you'll need a qualification in animal care (e.g. Certificate II in Animal Studies or equivalent), hands-on experience in domestic animal care, and an understanding of the statutory requirements for companion animals and their welfare. Strong written and verbal communication, customer service and digital skills are essential, along with a commitment to safety and following procedures.

  • Permanent Part-Time 15.2hrs per week: competitive hourly rate (from $32.65) depending on your capabilities and experience + 12% superannuation
  • Casual opportunities: competitive hourly rate (from $32.65) depending on your capabilities and experience + 25% casual loading + 12% superannuation
